There are things that appear continuous and things that seem specific to one particular time and place. The filmic loop holds time in various ways. It is a performative technique that speaks of practice and hermeneutics. Made of repetitions of beginnings and repetitions of ends, there is the circle of communal activity. Temple focuses on the preparation for ceremony. This backdrop is an everyday ritual composed of many small gestures that interlink, each creating the conditions for something else to occur. Attentional practices that transform the inner life move us indirectly without implying theory or social revolution.
